League dues are $50 and must be collected prior August 1st. If you have not paid your dues, then your rounds will not count toward the league championship on the 31st. Dues can be paid to the league Commissioner, Josh Perry, through Zelle, Venmo, CashApp, ApplePay, or with cash. Texts work best to coordinate payment - (405)200-5150
Payout will be structured as follows:
1st Place - 60% (roughly $330)
2nd Place - 25% (roughly $137.50)
3rd Place 15% (roughly $82.50)
To ensure fair competition and accurate handicaps, all league members are required to possess a valid GHIN (Golf Handicap Index Number). Each round will be logged with your handicap adjusted score. Additionally, each participant must complete a minimum of three 18-hole rounds between May 1st and the Championship Round on August 31st.
The Championship will be contested over 72 holes. Your final 18-hole score recorded during the last round of the Championship will serve as your concluding score for the tournament. All courses are permitted with a minimum course length of 5200 yards.
For a round to qualify towards your required three, it must be played with at least one other member of the league. To ensure proper tracking and verification, all qualifying rounds must be logged using The Grint app and attested to by your playing partner(s) who are also league members.
We understand that coordinating schedules for multiple league events can be challenging. This league format offers the flexibility to complete your qualifying rounds at your convenience throughout the season, culminating in a single, exciting Championship Day on August 31st. This allows everyone to participate without the constraints of rigid scheduling.
1. Maximum Score (PAR Rule):
To keep things moving and prevent balloon scores, the maximum score you can record on any hole is double par. Once you reach a point where you cannot mathematically achieve double par, pick up and record that score.
2. Ball Movement (Relief):
General Rule: You are expected to play the ball as it lies. However, the following exceptions are in place:
Marked Hazards (Yellow or Red Stakes/Lines): You may move your ball one grip length within the marked hazard, keeping it within the hazard and no closer to the hole.
Bunkers: All bunkers are designated as "rake and place." After raking the area, you may place your ball within the raked area, no closer to the hole.
Restrictions: You cannot move your ball under this rule if it lies out of bounds (OB), in a sand bunker (unless placing after raking), or on the putting green. You also cannot move your ball closer to the hole in any situation.
3. Flagstick:
To expedite play, you are permitted to leave the flagstick in the hole for putts from anywhere on the course. It is your choice whether to remove it or not.
4. Putting:
For Par or Better: All putts must be holed out. No exceptions.
For Bogey or Higher: Once any portion of your ball is within the length of the grip of your putter from the hole, you may consider the ball "holed out" for that stroke.
Addressing the Ball: If you address your ball on the putting green (take your stance), even if it's within the grip length for a bogey or higher, and then miss the putt, that stroke counts.
5. Out of Bounds (OB):
When your ball goes out of bounds as defined by course markings (usually white stakes or lines), you have the following options, designed to balance accuracy and pace of play:
Option A (Stroke and Distance): You may play your next shot from the original location, adding a one-stroke penalty. For example, if your first shot goes OB, your next shot from the original spot is your third shot.
Option B (Fairway Drop for Pace of Play): If your first shot goes out of bounds, you may take relief by dropping a ball within two club lengths of the edge of the fairway that is nearest to where your ball crossed the out-of-bounds line, no closer to the hole. This option incurs a two-stroke penalty. For example, if your first shot goes OB, your drop in the fairway results in your fourth shot.
6. Lost Ball:
If your ball is lost anywhere on the course that is not out of bounds or in a marked penalty area (yellow or red), you must proceed under the following rule:
Estimate the point where your ball was lost.
Take relief by dropping a ball within one club length of that estimated point, no closer to the hole.
This incurs a one-stroke penalty. For example, if your second shot is lost, your drop and subsequent shot will be your fourth.
7. Penalty Areas (Hazards):
All marked penalty areas (yellow and red stakes or lines) are to be treated as lateral penalty areas. You have the following relief options:
Option 1 (Stroke and Distance): Play your next shot from where your previous shot was played, adding a one-stroke penalty.
Option 2 (Lateral Relief): Drop a ball within two club lengths of the point where your ball last crossed into the penalty area, no closer to the hole. This incurs a one-stroke penalty.
Option 3 (Back-on-the-Line Relief - Red Penalty Areas Only): For red penalty areas, you may also take relief by going back on the line formed by the hole and the point where your ball last crossed into the penalty area. You may drop a ball within one club length of a point on that line, no closer to the hole. This also incurs a one-stroke penalty.
Ball on the Far Side: If your ball comes to rest within a penalty area but on the far side, you still take relief at the point of entry. You cannot simply drop on the far side without penalty.
